Elective Guidelines
Fulfilling Your 42 Unit Requirement
Aside from the scheduled course electives that are usually worth 2 - 3 units, you may choose to complete your 42 unit graduation requirement with electives that are not part of these normal course offerings. Follow these simple guidelines when planning your electives.
You can take a total of nine units from non-standard courses. (Independent Study, 1 unit courses, International Seminars, YEAH, Washington Campus, Haas@Work, Social Sector Solutions, etc.)
- You may take up to 3 units of Independent Study with a faculty sponsor.
- You may take up to three 1 unit courses. Exceptions to this can be found in the Student Handbook here.
- You may take only one International Seminar course.
- If you volunteer with Young Entrepreneurs At Haas (YEAH) and would like to receive credit, you can only count 1 unit toward your degree.
