CITM Launches a New Research & Outreach Program Entitled Business-In-Context (BIC)
Additional information about the event will be vailable soon. See the text below for further description of the subject.
What is BIC?
Business-In-Context is a new Research & Development initiative in Berkeley. While the overall research agenda have been and is pursued by various academic and
industry groups - investigating business and technology aspects of creating a dynamic process and technology infrastructure to enable higher levels of customer orientation
and personalization -our primary conclusion from past research and analysis of business
practices is that despite the accelerated introduction and deployment of the so-called
Web 2.0 technologies, the existing methodologies for business process design and
implementation are far from being scalable to reach the degree of business dynamics
enablement we envision. The main "culprit" is the average business process that
is the foundation of most corporations. While it was too expensive in the past to
develop and deploy finer granularity processes that can rapidly adapt and combine
into new processes dynamically, we believe that with the current state of technology
and the right methodologies, the road to moving organizations away from average
processes into context-dependent processes can be charted.
Additional information will be provided soon.
For more information about previous research and conferences, please browse the
the old pages. While older,
there is significant amount of material which is still relevant to the current state
of research and practice..
