Prof. David Teece is the recipient of the New Zealand Order of Merit. Associate Prof. Nicolae Garleanu is the winner of the Smith Breeden Prize from the Journal of Finance. Visiting Assistant Prof. Adair Morse has received the Journal of Finance's Brattle Prize.

Internationally Recognized Consultant Ron Ashkenas Named Haas Executive-in-Residence
Ron Ashkenas, a senior partner at Schaffer Consulting who specializes in "injecting simplicity into a complex world," has been appointed a Haas School executive-in-residence. In his role, Ashkenas will focus his attention on the school's online learning initiatives and Haas@Work course.

Financial Engineering Student Alfred Yuan Wins Morgan Stanley Competition
Alfred Yuan, MFE 13, won the $5,000 Morgan Stanley Prize for Excellence in Financial Markets for a paper focused on designing and implementing an algorithm to accelerate the computations of complex financial systems.
