The mission of the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics (FCREUE) is to educate students and real estate professionals and to support and conduct research on real estate, urban economics, the California economy, land use, and public policy.
The Policy Advisory Board Coordinator performs financial and administrative services for the fundraising team of the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics, an interdisciplinary research center at the Haas School of Business. Administrative services include analysis, verification, entry and reporting on the finance functions of the team as well as, budgeting and planning, external and donor communications and gift management. The position provides immediate executive assistance to FCREUE’s Director in all PAB member services related matters. The Policy Advisory Board (PAB), our donors, are a group of approximately 200 real estate and finance industry leaders, many of whom are University alumni. Board members contribute to the Center over $2 million in annual gifts which funds the Fisher Center’s research efforts and administration. This position also provides the team with student supervision, database management, and contributes to the Center’s long range strategic planning to fulfill the goals and mission of the Center.
Performs financial analysis to measure and plan cashflow and determine present and future performance for development team’s fundraising activities that provide the operating funds for FCREUE. Analyzes financial data; develops reports and analyses of operational activities, evaluation of current and proposed services, etc., for internal/external constituencies' review and decision-making. Under general supervision, develops, maintains and provides analytical support for development budget and board meetings.
Functions as a resource on issues such as researching complex financial discrepancies, customer service matters and vendor concerns. Works closely with University Relations to accommodate donor requests to directing funds for specific uses such as student scholarships, interdisciplinary research projects and endowment.
Participates in the development and revision of standard operating procedures and guidelines, creates and updates manuals and processes for expense approvals, donor solicitations, and student employment.
Under general supervision exercises limited discretion and professional judgment in implementing established components for FCREUE’s fundraising program. Develops and maintains reports from Berkeley’s CADS and BAIRS systems. Develops and maintains FCREUE’s internal database to monitor and document development program’s expenses, activities, trends, results and forecasting.
Handles regular correspondence with annual fund donors (an advisory board of 200+ members) that provide approximately $2 million/year. Regularly interacts directly with donors and alumni. Drafts informational materials for specific fundraising activities. Drafts and distributes membership information. Designs and administers dissemination and distribution methods. Tracks and monitor prospective donor inquiries. Provided general FCREUE program information to prospective donors and routes to involved parties.
Assists in the design and drafting of FCREUE’s website content and newsletters
Schedules and coordinates events. Provides on-site support at various FCREUE-sponsored functions: donor meetings, academic conferences, and alumni/student mixers.
Supervises a staff of 2 undergraduate Student Assistants.

· Working knowledge of common and campus-specific computer applications: MS Office, Adobe applications, BFS, BAIRS, and CADS.
· Bachelor's degree in Business and/or 5+ years related experience/training.
· Training in principles of accounting and non-profit management.
Salary & Benefits
The salary for this full-time career position will range from $42,000 annually up to $62,300 annually plus benefits.

The position includes approximately 5% time traveling locally or domestically.
