In a global market experiencing a rapid change of technology, companies face a challenge to achieve world class standards in the production and delivery of goods and services. The Operations & Information Technology Management (OITM) group at the Haas School of Business seeks to help meet the above challenges through its research and educational programs.

Faculty members have interests in areas including manufacturing and service operations management, management of information technology, operations research and decision analysis. Some of the current work include those in the area of semiconductor yield management, information management on the internet, information technology in financial markets, electronic markets, testing of digital circuits, management of product variety in supply chains and new product development in software industry. The Supply Chain Management Initiative and the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics have created opportunities for extended interaction with industry. In line with the inter-disciplinary focus of the school, faculty members conduct research with other groups at Haas as well as with other departments at Berkeley.
