Even though my major is economics, I’ve developed a strong interest in accounting and plan to pursue it as a career. The BCPA program is a great opportunity for me to learn more about the field and build a strong foundation. It’s also helping me feel more confident about my future path. After I graduate, I hope to pursue a career in the accounting field and continue developing my professional skills.

I am a UC Berkeley student pursuing a career in finance, with a strong interest in accounting, investing, and business strategy. Through internships in FP&A, investments, and venture capital, I have built experience evaluating companies, conducting financial research, and using data to support business decisions. I’m excited about the BCPA Program because I see accounting as the foundation for understanding how businesses operate, make decisions, and create value. Outside the classroom, I previously served as Finance Director for the Debate Society of Berkeley, where I managed budgeting and funding processes. Introductory BCPA

University: UC Berkeley
Major: Physics, Electrical and Computer Engineering

Coming from Boston to California, places like the world-renowned UC Berkeley and Silicon Valley are golden opportunities for me. Just coming in as a freshman in 2025, I always sought out anything that was offered, regardless of profession, field or interest as college was the time to explore. Although I am a scientist, success in life is beyond just the technical details. Learning the language of finance – accounting – is essential for any career (especially mine in STEM) that has direct real-world application (personal or business). Therefore, the BCPA program was the most tailored route for me to have early access, prepare for my CPA license, learn the essentials skills and get exposure through networking in the world of business. My future career will see the intersection between fundamental science, engineering and its business/start-up applications. I hope to get internship experience sooner in tech companies and further hone my financial intuition, and I am open to any diverse and new things! Two fun facts about me is that I’m a triathlon athlete and I am learning German right now!
