Information For Community Partners
Community partnerships are the cornerstone of our programs. We introduce community partners to the talents and energy of Berkeley Haas students and alumni who have honed their skills in our programs. Student leaders truly are the future of the social sector and they understand how to apply practical and creative actions to challenging situations.
Our programs prepare students to apply innovative frameworks to real-world challenges and they help alumni stay abreast of current techniques and trends in social enterprise. These opportunities are possible because of the close involvement of our community partners.
In this unique experiential learning course, students tackle complex problems for clients in the nonprofit, public, and social enterprise sectors, while receiving coaching from professional management consultants and experienced faculty. Fee based; sliding scale
Project Open Hand
Berkeley Board Fellows is an experiential learning program for MBA alumni, MBA students and other graduate students created to develop the next generation of nonprofit board leadership. Nonprofit partners welcome Fellows for an academic year as (non-voting) board members, providing exposure to their mission and the leadership that guides that mission. The Fellows undertake a strategic project identified by the Board applying classroom learnings and the expertise of faculty and coaches, experienced nonprofit volunteers and professionals provided by the Center for Social Sector Leadership. These same faculty and coaches provide training for Berkeley Board Fellows nonprofit partners on the Berkeley campus. The Center supplements training by posting relevant and topical governance research and interest pieces on our Board Fellows Resources page. No Fee
