Leadership Beyond the Classroom

Students come to Haas to make a difference. Becoming a leader who solves social challenges requires more than just class time. At the Center for Social Sector Leadership, students connect with leaders and apply what they’re learning while working for clients in the community.

Hands-on fieldwork in the Center’s experiential learning programs include:

The Berkeley Board Fellows

Students serve at the highest levels of nonprofits as board members. Building critical governance and leadership skills prepares fellows for future board service.

Social Sector Solutions for Nonprofits

In a joint partnership with McKinsey & Company, student consulting teams work directly with nonprofit clients on real world projects and are coached by management consulting professionals.

For a full list of the experiential learning opportunities offered through the Center, see the Programs and Events section.
