Haas offers resources and opportunities that make it possible for students who want to work in the social sector to pay for an MBA.

While You’re a Student

Berkeley Haas’s financial aid office provides outstanding services to students looking at ways to finance their MBA education.

In addition to the financial aid resources available to all Berkeley Haas students, the Center offers opportunities specifically for students focusing on social impact. The Haas Social Impact Fund provides financial support for FTMBA students who achieve social impact by interning at nonprofits or public agencies.

Paid employment during the academic year is possible through a variety of Academic Student Employee (ASE) positions that are offered each semester. These positions are maintained by the academic office, and vary in their time commitment and pay. Find out more information on the Academic Student Employee website.

After Graduation

Offering grants to assist MBAs who work at nonprofits, the Nonprofit Loan Repayment Assistance Program is one of the most robust loan programs offered by top business schools.

Philanthropy Fellowships: MBA students apply for a Center for Social Sector Leadership fellowship to work at select foundations, where they can immerse themselves in the philanthropic sector, build skills, and strengthen their network.
