Meet Kaixin Wang: The Energy Institute’s Newest Graduate Student Affiliate

December 18, 2024

We’re excited to welcome Kaixin Wang as the most recent Graduate Student Affiliate at the Energy Institute who joined us earlier this year.

I am a second-year PhD student in economics, specializing in public finance, industrial organization, and environmental economics. I am interested in studying climate change adaptation and environmental regulation. At the Energy Institute, I have been supporting a project that examines how economically efficient rate reforms could shift incentives for residential building electrification across the United States. Before coming to Berkeley, I studied economics and mathematics at the University of Chicago and worked as a research fellow at the Energy Policy Institute at UChicago, where I contributed to an evaluation of an emissions trading market in India.
