“‘It’s hard to think of any company whose public image is more closely tied to its chief executive than Tesla,’ said Lucas Davis, a professor at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business who specializes in energy economics. He noted that, in the U.S., vehicle purchases have become tightly intertwined with political ideology.”
