Hear From Our Donors
“My family has proudly supported EGAL since its inception. EGAL provides a research based framework to support the hard work of building equity fluent organizations. As leaders of business groups, both Eric and I understand the benefits of authentic and diverse leadership, but also the barriers that exist. EGAL has been a defining influence in both our careers and we donate in order to support the EGAL staff and grow their important body of research. We encourage anyone interested in and committed to the positive outcomes associated with equity fluent leadership to join us on this exciting opportunity and invest in a team with a proven record of change making.”
— Donna Colson, Mayor and Councilmember, City of Burlingame
Our Impact Throughout the Years
2022 Impact
EGAL made impactful strides this year, launching key initiatives such as an Equity Fluent Leadership Playbook on Belonging, a Belonging Sparks card deck, and the Inclusive Leadership Academy. The Center extended its influence through workshops with Meta, global presentations, and events like the AmpEquity Speaker Series. These efforts contributed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion at Berkeley Haas and beyond, culminating in the celebration of EGAL’s five-year anniversary and recognition of alumni, including Cristy Johnston Limón, with the Equity Fluent Leadership Award.
2021 Impact
Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic, EGAL thrived in its mission to advance Equity Fluent Leadership through initiatives such as our Equity Fluent Leadership Playbooks, expanding outreach through workshops, speaker series, and events, and recognizing a Berkeley Haas alum, Om Chitale, with our inaugural Equity Fluent Leadership Award.
2020 Impact
Contributions over the past year have significantly advanced Equity Fluent Leadership through courses, consulting projects, fellowships, and research grants. Key achievements include launching Equity Fluent Leadership Playbooks that address challenges like supporting dual career couples, mitigating AI bias, and navigating COVID-19 business transformation. The year featured impactful events, such as our AmpEquity speaker series and conferences, and supporting ventures focused on equity and inclusion at our Investing in Inclusion Pitch Competition.
2019 Impact
EGAL’s impact extends beyond the UC Berkeley campus, influencing the broader community through our speaker series, partnerships, and the creation of our first Equity Fluent Leadership playbook. This collaborative effort questions the status quo, positioning Berkeley Haas to become a leading institution for developing Equity Fluent talent. Notable initiatives include the expansion of our Equity Fluent resources and diversity-focused case competitions.
