Cinco de Mayo Celebration

DAR, Bay Area, Diversity/Affinity Events
May

Virtual | Bay Area, CA |
May 5, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Please join the Latinx Business Club and Latin American and Hispanic Business Association (LAHBA)  in partnership with the Berkeley Haas DEI Office, for a cultural celebration in honor of Cinco de Mayo. This holiday holds particular symbolic significance for the Mexican community in the Southwest U.S., marking the Battle of Puebla, when the Mexican army defeated the bigger, better armed French military. These celebrations have been observed annually in California since 1863, and were particularly adopted by the Chicano civil rights movement of the 60s as their day for celebrating.

Please join us May 5th, 2021 from 5-6 pm PST for a fun gathering that will include a guacamole demo (get your ingredients ready), some music, and remarks. This event is for students, staff, faculty, and alumni.

Please RSVP  here, to get the zoom link to the event. We request that you don’t share this link with anyone.
