Los Angeles Alumni: Business Plan & Pitch Contest hosted by BASICS & Springroll AI
Los Angeles, CA, USA |
October 17 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Business Plan & Pitch Contest hosted by BASICS, a UC Berkeley Pre-Accelerator and Springroll AI.
Attendees will use our startup plan copilot to create complimentary business plans, pitch decks and proformas for their businesses. The best plans will pitch our expert panel.
While preparing plans, Joshua Lee (Ardius and Gumshoe Ventures) will host a roundtable discussion with other successful founders on the future of AI in startup operations.
Joshua Lee is currently loving life as an investor and entrepreneur in Southern California’s growing “Silicon Beach.” As an avid venture investor / advisor, start-up founder, and board member, he has consistently found a passion in starting, growing, and leading Saas / fintech / B2B companies, especially those in the early startup and growth phases.
Jonathan Meyrowitz, from Up.Labs, will also participate in the discussion. He is a seasoned Talent Acquisition & People executive with experience scaling both established and early-stage teams in eCom, Venture Capital, Fortune 100, Retail, HealthTech, Mobility, and Entertainment environments. An employer branding, culture, and talent attraction expert – Jonathan prioritizes creating a diverse, personable, and tech-enriched recruitment & people process; while also sitting on advisory boards for new & unicorn recruiting technology companies including Calendly and others.
Other notable roundtable participants are a former Navy SEAL turned AI startup founder and an entrepreneurial Cal CogSci professor.
Host Michael Jacobs, BS 04, CEO of Springroll AI, is a founder with 2 exits. Springroll AI helps any business become an AI-first organization with the tools needed to build and manage AI-driven projects and products.
As an instructor at UC Berkeley’s AI-powered BASICS accelerator, Michael is also building the future of Al education and entrepreneurship. We believe that many of the future’s top founders will come from cognitive science, data science and quantitative social psychology educational backgrounds. Those majors teach students to understand human-computer interaction at the highest levels.
Refreshments, including drinks, will be provided. Attendees must bring their laptops to create plans.
