Learn the fundamentals of building operating and valuation models.
BHAN-LA is excited to bring back the long-awaited financial modeling workshop, in the virtual form! The event will consist of a two-hour financial modeling workshop, followed by a Q&A session, and will be taught by Scott Beber, a professional financial modeler.
By attending this workshop, attendees can expect to learn the fundamentals of building operating and valuation financial models. More specifically, this workshop will cover:
- preparing credit statistics
- comparable company/transaction analysis
- pro forma financial projections,
- debt schedules
- Discounted Cash Flow analysis, and more.

Question and Answer session Minimum requirements: A basic familiarity with Excel and the Income Statement and Balance sheet, typically learned in undergraduate beginning accounting. However, the course is open to anyone–undergraduate and graduate students in business and other disciplines.
It is for anyone wishing to better understand of basic financial analysis using Excel.
About the instructor Scott Beber: (BS 92) is an experienced finance professional and adjunct finance professor. Working college as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Co., Scott first became familiar with Microsoft Access and Excel. After receiving his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Scott worked in various corporate finance and strategic planning roles, where he honed his skills in developing analytical software, building pricing models, and performing valuations. For six years, Scott taught Managerial Finance at Cal State LA and Pepperdine University, and led dozens of financial, strategic, and analytical projects in private practice at ExcelModels.com. He currently heads up finance at Matchcraft, a Santa Monica-based ad-tech firm.
