Virtual | Sacramento, CA |
May 26, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Join the Berkeley-Haas Alumni Sacramento Chapter to explore the major business drivers in the beer industry today. From innovation and emerging alcohol beverage categories like “better for you” to competitive pressure from the local/craft movement, Sierra Nevada is a fascinating brand to investigate.

This fireside chat with Berkeley-Haas alumnus and Vice President of Technical Innovation and Brewing Sean Lavery and Trade Marketing Manager Justin Nix will include ample time for Q&A while Justin leads us in tasting a few of the company’s products (to be purchased by each attendee separately).

Founded in 1979 in Chico, CA, Sierra Nevada has grown into one of the largest independent breweries in the country as is often cited as one of the most influential breweries and a pioneer in the craft beer movement.

Sean and Justin will guide us through the history of innovation at Sierra Nevada, including the Company’s first-ever expansion into an entirely new category, Hard Kombucha, and the business challenges of being in a constantly evolving industry. Sean will also discuss his time at Haas and how “Questioning the Status Quo” continues to be a critical part of his role and the culture at Sierra Nevada.

We hope you can join us for what is certain to be a fun and informative event with beers and Bears!
