Climate changes, real estate markets shift, what are the risks and opportunities to us as a society? 

At this webinar, Prof. Nancy Wallace will discuss sustainability challenges of U.S. real estate markets with respect to green house gas emissions and how we compare with other countries. 

Topics include: 1. New initiatives such as carbon taxes in NYC and new building performance standards in California, 2. Opportunities and challenges associated with these initiatives for building owners, 3. Fire as a major climate related risk to real estate markets in California, based on ongoing research works under her leadership at the BerkeleyHaas Fisher Center.

Speaker’s Bio: Prof. Nancy Wallace is the Lisle and Roslyn Payne Chair in Real Estate Capital Markets at Berkeley Haas. She serves as chair of the Real Estate Group and co-chair of the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics. Prof. Wallace is an expert in mortgages, mortgage-related securities, and other real estate topics.
