UK Alumni: Sustainability Talks: An Interactive Discussion with Professor Daniel Karp about Biodiversity and Agriculture
Virtual |
February 27 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
You are invited to an interactive discussion about Climate Health and Health Equity with one of UC’s preeminent educators. Daniel Karp is an Associate Professor in the Department of Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology at the University of California, Davis. After completing his Ph.D. in 2013, Daniel worked as a NatureNet Science Fellow at the Nature Conservancy and UC Berkeley.
Daniel’s interests focus on developing methods for harmonizing food production with the conservation of ecosystem services and biodiversity. Drawing on his research program Prof Karp will outline the challenges and opportunities of biodiversity management in agricultural landscapes in California and the Neotropics. Conrad Young, a Cal alumnus, founder of Chirrup.ai, will chair the session, asking initial questions and inviting further questions from the attendees.
To facilitate the conversation, you are encouraged to submit questions for Professor Karp during registration.
The £5 ticket fee goes to Sustainability Initatives at your UC campus.
