- The Science of Preventing Burnout: How to Manage Stress and Maintain Overall Wellbeing Recording-The EWMBAA VPs of Mental Health partnered with Haas faculty, Dr. Sahar Yousef and Professor Lucas Miller, to provide access from a previous livestream training session. In this rapid-fire session, Dr. Yousef and Professor Miller discuss burnout and provide a practical toolkit of strategies on how burnout can be beat.

Starting Fall 2025, all Evening and Weekend MBA students will receive an automatic waiver for SHIP insurance, eliminating the need to submit individual waivers to opt out of SHIP. This change means students currently enrolled in SHIP, and all EW students will lose this insurance option after July 31, 2025. Please read this email for more information on alternative insurance options and contact information for the SHIP team.
Background on the SHIP Waiver
In Fall 2024, the blanket waiver for Evening and Weekend students was removed by the UC Office of the President, requiring each student to either pay for SHIP or submit a detailed individual waiver. Since most EW students have employer-sponsored insurance, the majority applied for waivers. However, only a small number used SHIP, and many students paid for double insurance coverage. The SHIP team resolved the issue that led to the removal of the blanket waiver and, after reviewing the student data, agreed to reinstate it to best serve the majority of EW students.
