About

Ana Martinez is the Associate Director of the Strauch Cleantech to Market (C2M) program at the Energy Institute at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. C2M connects cutting-edge climate tech startups with teams of UC Berkeley graduate students to help accelerate commercialization through deep analysis of market opportunities, scale-up strategies, and pathways to impact.

Ana is also the Co-Founder of Xploration Partners, a Silicon Valley-based innovation consulting firm. She has worked with startups, corporates, and governments across energy, agriculture, food, consumer goods, and other sectors to bring emerging technologies to market. Over her career, Ana has collaborated with more than 1,000 startups and 100 corporations, facilitating over 200 partnerships. Clients include Nestlé, P&G, BP, PepsiCo, Volkswagen, Mizuho, Mitsubishi, TOTO, JETRO, ENEOS, and others.

Previously, Ana served as Chief Innovation Officer of the Open Innovation Squad at UC Berkeley’s Garwood Center, advising interdisciplinary student teams on corporate innovation projects. Before that, at RocketSpace, Ana helped corporations develop and launch innovation strategies—establishing venture arms for companies like JetBlue and De Beers, managing accelerators, and leading startup scouting and M&A initiatives.

Earlier in her career, Ana was a founding member of Rabobank’s innovation team, where she helped launch Foodbytes—a global food and ag startup pitch platform—and TERRA, an accelerator connecting startups and corporates to drive innovation in sustainable food systems.

Ana holds a BA in Economics and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
