Ed Discussion

Ed Discussion helps scale class communication in a beautiful and intuitive interface. Questions reach and benefit the whole class. Less emails, more time saved.

Ed Discussion is managed by Digital Learning Services (DLS), is available for all UC Berkeley courses, and integrates directly into bCourses.

Canvas Studio

Canvas Studio engages learners and instructors. They can share, comment, and give feedback all within the video timeline—and all in real time! That way, learners learn from each other’s insights as well as from the instructor.

Canvas Studio makes it easy for faculty to create engaging video and for students to participate in dynamic conversations as they view the video independently. And it provides a platform for students (who might otherwise be passive and non-participatory in class) to interact and participate. Watch the video to the right to see how Canvas Studio can elevate discussions in your bCourse site.

IdeaMachine

IdeaMachine combines the best of online communities, audience interaction features, and classroom assignments in a single platform. It encourages student participation and provides instructors with real-time data on student engagement.

Instructors create IdeaMachine challenge assignments which are automatically sent to students via email. Students respond with text and images, then connect in a social media-style interface to cast votes, post comments, and interact.

IdeaMachine is mobile-ready, easy to use, and a modern tool that complements any course topic. The platform is ideally suited for blended learning, where student responses posted outside of class serve as the basis for in-class discussion and activities.
