The quality of IBSI-supported research is driven by the quality of the IBSI research teams.
Berkeley-based faculty researchers serve as Principal Investigators, while predocs, GSRs, and postdocs support and lead their own research efforts.
IBSI research also relies on external collaborators based at other universities and research organizations. External collaborators go through the UC Berkeley Affiliate process and/or receive IBSI funding through UC Berkeley vendoring process.
