Salsa and North Korea (but this is about Mexico)
My teammates Joe, Masha and Jenny have already shared about the healthcare startup we are working with here in Mexico. Just gave our final presentation to the client last night and it went great! Pumped out 50 pages, strategy deck and investment opinions on 9 healthcare areas… whew

What may not have been shared is the food here – specifically the salsa. My friends back home know how much I love salsa. I am commonly asked, “Wow, Albert, do you want a taco to go with that salsa?” In this sense, Mexico is the perfect IBD location for me.

In other news, last weekend, Joe and I visited an international fair that Mexico City was hosting. Over 30 countries had various booths where one could taste food, meet country representatives or buy various goods. I was completely shocked to find that there was an unlisted booth hosted by North Korea. As a Korean-American, I have never met a North Korean and having a casual conversation with one of the representatives was surreal. Looks like the learning experience on an IBD trip can always go beyond the host country!
