The Fisher Center annually sponsors a research grant program available to all UC Berkeley faculty and Ph.D. students with research projects in the areas of real estate, real estate finance, and urban economics.

The Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics has a limited amount of funding available for research proposals from UC Berkeley Ph.D. candidates and faculty members, and invites you to submit a proposal to fund research for fiscal year 2020/21.

Faculty may sponsor a Ph.D. by submitting a letter of recommendation for the student. Student proposals are submitted by the Ph.D. rules outlined below.

If you have a project that you would like our research committee to consider, please note the following:

PROPOSAL DUE DATE: Friday, May 1, 2020

TOPIC: Research related to real estate asset and capital markets, agglomeration and urban economics, the financial crisis, housing markets, or consumer credit – all broadly defined.

FUNDING PERIOD: July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021
