Jim Sallee Welcomed to CRB as New Ladder Faculty Director

The Center for Responsible Business welcomes Professor Jim Sallee as our new Ladder Faculty Director. Jim is a professor in the Economics Analysis and Policy group at the Haas School of Business, with a research focus on energy, climate, environmental, and public economics and policy. He helped design and now co-leads the new Master of Climate Solutions, a collaboration between the Haas School of Business and Rausser College of Natural Resources. The program focuses on accelerating the implementation of solutions that mitigate greenhouse gas emissions or protect against the harms of climate change through adaptation, with careful attention to equity and justice.
“CRB is a vibrant platform at UC Berkeley. I see many opportunities ahead to further leverage it as a strategic asset for advancing our sustainability pillar at Haas, while building key cross-campus relationships,” said Professor Sallee.
The role of the Ladder Faculty Director is to engage with executive directors and center teams to provide academic oversight and help ensure that centers remain closely connected to the broader university mission.
CRB Executive Director Robert Strand added, “We are thrilled to have Jim coming on board. The Center for Responsible Business is an institution in its own right at UC Berkeley, and with Jim’s collaboration and leadership, we can ensure it is more fully leveraged to advance Haas’s sustainability strategy while furthering our mission to foster a vibrant community at UC Berkeley dedicated to advancing responsible business.”
