Sustainable, Holistic, Accessible, Recoverable & Equitable
The mission of SHARE@Haas is to cultivate a more Sustainable, Holistic, Accessible, Recoverable, and Equitable community by eliminating food waste and ensuring all students, staff, and faculty have reliable access to nutritious food and essential resources. We achieve this by actively recovering surplus food from Haas events, creating a welcoming and stigma-free space for resource distribution, and empowering a new generation of student leaders to drive positive change in our food systems and beyond.

If an event has excess food that can be recovered, there are different options:
SHARE@ Haas is a program where food is recovered and moved to the SHARE Space where students, staff or faculty in the Haas community can access it.
If you would like to have our SHARE Fellows move your excess food to the Haas SHARE Space, please fill out this form.
Other options for food recovery:
- Dorothy Day House
- Can accommodate 5 hotel pans or more
- Requires coordination of food pick up prior to the event
- Basic Needs Center at UC Berkeley
- Food needs packaged individually
- Slack Channel Haas School of Business #Free_Food

How Is Food Recovered?
After events, we will engage our SHARE Fellows to move excess food to the Haas SHARE Space.
Food will be transferred into individual, single-serving, reusable containers. These containers are #5 plastic and can be washed up to 1000 times.
Food Health and Safety Guidelines:
- SHARE@Haas Fellows have ServSafe® food safety certification for food handlers
- Recovered food is labeled with the date and time of recovery
