Planning a Zero Waste Event at Haas

Haas is committed to zero waste and Chou Hall was the first academic building in the nation to achieve USGBC TRUE Zero Waste platinum certification. Haas must divert 90% of our materials from landfill to maintain the TRUE Zero Waste certification. Since 2018 Chou Hall has maintained a 90% diversion rate and we need you to help us continue these efforts.

Additionally, Haas pledges to phase out and eventually ban all single-use non essential plastic and work to find alternatives to single-use items campus-wide. See the policy signed by former Dean Harrison.
