Dean’s Speaker Series – Rosie Rios

Oct
06

Virtual |
October 6, 2020 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Rosie Rios’s career has focused on real estate finance, economic development, and urban revitalization in both the public and private sectors.  As the 43rd Treasurer of the United States, she oversaw all currency and coin production activities with almost 4,000 employees and an annual budget of $5 billion and initiated the efforts to place a portrait of a woman on U.S. currency.

Her personal passion is serving as Founder and CEO of EMPOWERMENT 2020, an initiative that facilitates the physical recognition of historical American women.  A graduate of Harvard University, she was selected as the first Latina in Harvard’s 384-year history to have a portrait commissioned in her honor.  In August 2020 Rosie was honored as one of USA Today’s Women of the Century.

The conversation will be run by MBA student moderators, and there will be an opportunity for audience Q&A, so please come with any questions you may have.

Registration is not required for this event.  Please join via the livestream link — which is also listed on the DSS page.  If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]

We are particularly fortunate to have this event coincide with our celebrations as a school, of both the 150 Years of Women at Berkeley, and National Hispanic Heritage month. I hope you will mark your calendars and join us on Oct. 6th for what I’m certain will be an engaging and informative conversation.
