Chevy Volt Raffle Launch to Benefit Program for College-Bound Youth, GM's Bob Lutz to Announce Winners of Raffle's Social Media Competition at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business
The Young Entrepreneurs at Haas (YEAH), a self-supporting youth mentoring program at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business that puts economically disadvantaged youth on the college-bound track, is embarking on its biggest fundraising season ever with a raffle of a Chevy Volt.
Former General Motors Vice Chairman and Haas alumnus Bob Lutz, BS 61, MBA 62, who came up with the idea for the Volt, will return to Berkeley-Haas Nov. 4 to announce the winners of an undergraduate competition that charged students to craft a social media campaign for the Volt raffle. After Lutz presents the winners with $3,000 in prizes, all are invited to inspect a Volt up close. Representatives of the news media are welcome to attend.
Haas alumnus and YEAH founding board member David Eckles, MBA 73, donated the Chevrolet Volt for the raffle to help raise funds and visibility for the YEAH program. YEAH has a 100% success rate in sending under-resourced Bay Area youth to college.
