About
Ilan Morgenstern is an assistant professor in the Operations and Information Technology Management group at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. His research explores questions related to the design and operations of online marketplaces and digital platforms, drawing on tools from game theory, operations research, and empirical analysis.
Before joining Berkeley Haas, Ilan received his PhD in Operations, Information & Technology from Stanford GSB and then spent a year as a postdoctoral researcher at Yale. He holds degrees in applied mathematics and economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). Beyond academia, his professional background spans McKinsey & Company, Etsy, and Mexico’s National Electoral Institute.
