The Center for Financial Reporting and Management promotes innovative financial and managerial accounting education through cutting-edge research, outstanding teaching, a globally focused curriculum, and attention to ethical behavior. The CFRM focuses on three priorities:
The CFRM brings together students, faculty, alumni, practitioners, and business leaders. We bring speakers into the classroom, advise students on coursework, and connect them with potential employers. We organize conferences and research projects that facilitate dialogue among academicians, practitioners, regulators, national and international standard setters, and the business community at large.
The CFRM’s Advisory Board, comprised of leaders in Bay Area accounting firms and corporations, contributes insights into the accounting curriculum to ensure it reflects marketplace needs. This includes promoting corporate and social responsibility, ethics, and values that govern businesses and personal behavior.
The CFRM funds faculty research, teaching in summer sessions, TAs appointments for undergraduate accounting courses, and PhD student stipends.
