Mentor Responsibilities
- Have a basic understanding of business principles and/or youth development which you will use in working with groups of high school students
- Share your educational journey and enthusiasm for education
- Be a role model
Mentor Requirements
- Have an interest in mentoring local youth, and an interest in learning Youth Development Best Practices, and educational classroom management techniques
- Attend at least 80% of the sessions
- Commit to spending time following up with students during the weeks between sessions
Locations & Meeting Times
- The high school program meets on designated Saturdays throughout the academic year, either from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m., depending on the cohort of students mentored
Duration of Program
- Volunteer for the entire school year, usually from September – May
