Nestled off the coast of southern California are the five islands and amazing ocean environment that comprise Channel Islands National Park. The isolation of the islands has resulted in unique natural habitat and archaelogical resources, many of which can be found nowhere else on earth.
Join Berkeley Haas Alumni of the Santa Barbara- Ventura region as a national park ranger gives a virtual talk on the history of the islands, plant and wildlife, nature conservation and the best ways to visit.
You’ll learn about a few of the many things to see, including tidepools, sea caves, wild flowers and a marine sanctuary. Camping, hiking, kayaking and diving are just a few of the recreational activities available. The islands may be hard to reach but are definitely worth the visit! Networking break out rooms will be available. A Zoom link will be sent the day before.
