The Management of Organizations (MORS) group at Berkeley focuses on understanding the sociological, psychological, and economic processes that drive behavior within organizations. Key areas of study include judgment and decision-making, power and status, diversity, self and person perception, innovation, negotiations and conflict resolution, non-verbal communication, culture, social networks, and entrepreneurship.
Faculty in the MORS group train students at all levels —undergraduate, MBA, PhD, and executive— to understand how these core themes affect organizational performance and the impact that organizations have on society. Students learn to analyze complex organizations, identify the causes of suboptimal performance and inequality, and develop and implement effective interventions at the micro (individual) and macro (organizational) levels.
