PUBLIC PROFILE - Show your Cal cred to the world
You can quickly build your custom Berkeley-Haas public profile page with verified academic info. Add your social media links and allow anyone, including professional contacts and recruiters, to privately contact you without ever seeing your email address. Search engines will find it, and so will potential networking contacts.

How to turn on your Public Profile:

Login to @cal, then

Click the "Profile" tab.

Click "Public Profile" at the top of your profile.

Follow the instructions. You'll be done in about 5 minutes.

* TIP: If you have never logged in to @cal and need to apply for a CalNet ID, it will speed the process if you have your PIN. That's the number above the mailing label on anything the Haas School has mailed you, such as the Berkeley-Haas magazine. It is also at the bottom of our email newsletter, eHAN. No need to input your student ID number. See Related Links below for CalNet help. (If you graduated after 2009, you can use the same CalNet ID you used as a student.)

Instructions for logging in and search your Haas Alumni Directory, Haas@Cal

Capitalize on Your Connections:
Professionals need a mosaic of tools to network and search for career advancement opportunities. Complement your other online tools with features in Haas@Cal and find data and contact info that you may not find anywhere else.

1. Access Haas@Cal - haas.berkeley.edu/alumni/haasatcal
Login with your CalNet ID and passphrase.

2. Complete your profile under the "My Profile" tab before starting your searches. Adding a photo to your profile to gives our community a greater feeling of connectedness.

3. BASIC SEARCH: Used primarily for searching for a specific person.
- Enter their name in the Find People search box at the top of the site.
- Or, using the tabs visit People > Find > Find People By > Search Specific Fields to find by first or last name, employer, and/or city.

4. ADVANCED SEARCH: Personal Connections
- From the tabs visit People > Find > Find People By

Region: Search a metro region or even a section of a continent (avoid narrowing your search unnecessarily).

Country: Useful for International students and alumni to network with alumni from their home country, or for those who work or travel internationally.

5. ADVANCED SEARCH: Professional Contacts
- From the tabs visit People > Find > Find People By

Industry: Choose from the drop down box of Key Industries. Two fields are available to provide a more specific search.

Job Function: Choose from the drop down box of Job Functions. Two fields are available to provide a more specific search.

Employer Name:
- Enter company name in the Find People search box at the top of the site.
HOT TIP! If targeting a specific company, to expand your search, consider searching for people connected with competitors. They will likely have insight into the company. They may also have friends working for your targeted company or may be a former employee themselves.

6. ADVANCED SEARCH: Academic Affiliation
- From the tabs visit People > Find > Find People By column

Class Year

Major: aka Academic Program enrolled in or graduated from (e.g. EWMBA, Berkeley/Columbia EMBA, Full Time MBA, MFE, PhD, Undergraduate). When doing a networking or employer search, this field can be left as "Any Major." Remember, only Haas alumni and students are in this directory.

Degree: This field is best used to differentiate your search based on current student (ie; MBA Candidate) from Haas Alumni (ie: MBA) from the multiple Haas programs (e.g. EWMBA, Berkeley/Columbia MBA, Full Time MBA, MFE, PhD, Undergraduate). As noted above in the "Major" search field, this field can also be left as "Any Degree" to cast a wider net.

HOT TIP! Many current students are employed (EWMBA and BCEMBA students), and are valuable resources in your networking searches at companies.

More HOT TIPS!
All words in the "About Me" section of your directory profile are linked to others with the same interest. For example, if you included travel as an interest, when you click on that word (it acts like a keyword search) it will bring up a list of others in the community also interested in travel, with direct links to their profiles and contact information.

*LinkedIn is a great complimentary search tool to Haas@Cal.
- Get info from Haas@Cal that LinkedIn doesn't offer: Conduct a search in LinkedIn to find Haas contacts, and then use Haas@Cal to find direct contact information, such as email addresses, which LinkedIn may not display.
- Join Haas Affinity sub-groups within the Haas-Berkeley LinkedIn group. This is another great opportunity to meet students and alumni within your Haas network with similar interests and expertise.
