Jenya Kahn-Lang Completes PhD and Accepts Stanford Postdoc and RFF Fellowship

June 12, 2023

Energy Institute graduate student Jenya Kahn-Lang completed her PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics in May, and will be taking a year-long postdoc at the Stanford Environmental and Energy Policy Analysis Center before joining Resources for the Future as a fellow in 2024. Jenya has been a graduate student affiliate with the Energy Institute since 2018. Jenya’s research focuses on retail electricity restructuring, distributed energy resources, electrification, and rate design. Her job market paper shows that consumers pay very different prices for electricity in the same retail electricity market, with low-income and other marginalized communities paying especially high prices. She explores the causes of these pricing patterns and the role of targeted in-person marketing.
