Through its centers and programs, the Institute provides a wide array of courses, case competitions, conferences, speaker engagements, and experiential learning and leadership opportunities, preparing students to become ethical, socially focused leaders regardless of the careers and sectors in which they choose to work.
Your tax-free gift will support the Institute for Business & Social Impact’s many research, programmatic and curricular activities. It is an investment in path-bending leaders who will make the world a better place and who will inspire others to follow.
Donations with Impact
The launch of the Institute for Business & Social Impact in 2013 was supported by generous donations from Haas School alumni Allan Holt, MBA 76, a managing director at the Carlyle Group in Washington, DC; and Margo Alexander, BS 68, chairman emeritus of the Acumen Fund.
Investing well and responsibly is something Holt believes business schools can and should teach. “We can make money for our investors and do good in the community and for the environment,” Holt said of the Institute. “These are not mutually exclusive goals.”
Corporate Partnerships
A corporate partnership with the Institute offers solutions to the world’s most urgent social and environmental challenges. Corporate engagement opportunities include participating in the Berkeley-Haas case series, being a panelist for an event, engaging with students in a course project, or becoming a lead sponsor for student programming.
