Gloria Lee

Gloria is an education entrepreneur who has founded and led multiple organizations focused on improving student learning experiences for children farthest from opportunity in the United States, including Educate78 (Oakland-focused accelerator for new schools, collective action, professional learning, and family voice), NewSchools Venture Fund (a venture philanthropy), Teaching Channel (professional development video platform), Yu Ming Charter School (California’s first Mandarin immersion charter school) and Aspire Public Schools (one of the nation’s leading charter management organizations). She serves on the Boards of the National Equity Project and The Oakland REACH and is the author of “The Impact Triangle,” a chapter in Frontiers in Social Innovation. She received her BS in Agricultural Economics at Cornell University, and MBA and MA in Education at Stanford University, where she also teaches a graduate course on education entrepreneurship.
