The Center for Social Sector Leadership prepares a new generation of cross-sector leaders with the practical skills to tackle complex global challenges and achieve social impact.

Curriculum

Student learning is at the core of our mission. We offer a robust portfolio of courses taught by a distinguished faculty of practitioners, researchers, and established leaders in the field.

Experiential Learning

An array of hands-on fieldwork opportunities for students to grapple with the issues facing the nonprofit and public sectors. Students strengthen their skills while developing mission-critical projects for leading-edge organizations.

Research

The Center conducts research on cutting-edge issues including multi-sector leadership, nonprofit networks, social capital, and social impact assessment.

Career Development

The Center offers career advising, mentoring, and networking opportunities to assist students and alumni to reach their goals and to found, lead, manage and govern in and across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors.

Events

Impact Speakers Series brings together thought leaders from the philanthropic community with Haas students and alumni in a yearlong speaker series that tackles cutting-edge issues and explores best practices for social impact.

About the Haas School of Business

As the second-oldest business school in the United States, the Haas School of Business at the University of California Berkeley is one of the world’s leading producers of new ideas and knowledge in all areas of business — which includes the distinction of having two of its faculty members receive the Nobel Prize in Economics over the past 20 years.
