Élida M. Bautista, PhD

As Berkeley Haas Chief DEI Officer, Élida M. Bautista, PhD is responsible for the vision and stewardship of the School’s DEI Strategic Initiatives.
Dr. Bautista initially joined Haas in January 2018 as the Director of Inclusion and Diversity. In that inaugural role, she oversaw the implementation of the DEI strategic plan (2018) and was an integral member of the Haas DEI Action plan (2019). Élida has delivered curriculum for students and alumni, and developed training opportunities to equip staff, faculty, and leadership with an understanding of diversity concepts.
Prior to Haas, Élida was an Associate Professor in the University of California, San Francisco’s Department of Psychiatry. She served as the Director of Clinical Training for the UCSF Multicultural Clinical Training Program, focused on trauma-informed culturally congruent practices for underserved communities. She also developed and taught the UCSF Diversity and Inclusion Certificate Program for staff and led UCSF’s campus-wide Unconscious Bias training initiative for UCSF faculty and leadership.
Outside of work, Élida serves on the boards of Women Organized to Make Abuse Nonexistent and the National Coalition on Youth Law. She also serves as an Advisor for Skillful.ly and for The Black Fund. And for fun, Élida hosts a music program on a local public radio station.
Élida earned her Bachelors in Chicano Studies and Psychology from Claremont McKenna College, and her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan.

DEI Instructional Support Consultant
queen jaks, PhD

Dr. queen jaks is the diversity instructional support consultant, a new role for Haas. queen will be partnering with faculty across our degree programs to more effectively address DEIB in their classroom practices and curriculum.
Dr. queen jaks is an educator, researcher, consultant and executive coach. queen focuses on highlighting the contributions marginalized communities offer to organizations and society as a whole. Her work explores multiple facets of diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and belonging with an emphasis on the intersectionality of race and social class. She has designed and taught various courses including: Leadership in Diversity and Inclusion: Towards a Globally Inclusive Workplace, Managing Diversity in the Workplace and Race Conscious Narratives and Equity Minded Leadership.
queen embodies a compassionate, empathetic approach when connecting with others. She has facilitated DEI corporate training in multiple capacities ranging from 1-1 meetings to development workshops for entire departments. queen is intentional about creating an environment that is genuinely inclusive to its members by actively maintaining conversations and providing tools meant to strengthen relationships that will enhance the classroom experience. Self-care is essential for queen; therefore, she makes it a priority to take time to remove herself from what is, reflect and just be. Meditation and comic books are a must!
She earned her PhD in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA from the University of Redlands, and her BS in Business Administration from UC Riverside.

Katrina Koski

Katrina Koski is the Director of Inclusion and Belonging, a school-wide DEIB role, partnering with each of our degree programs, Career Management Group, Alumni Relations and faculty to support the student experience across degree programs. Katrina is passionate about diversifying spaces, enhancing understanding between individuals and communities, and supporting creative, cooperative, and equitable organizational leadership that affirms the worth of each person.
Katrina joined Haas following her service as Chief Diversity Officer and Director of Strategic Initiatives for the School of Social Welfare. Prior to that role, she served in the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost managing an initiative for campus-wide academic innovation and fiscal sustainability. Additionally, Katrina serves as Communications Chair for the Cal Women’s Network.
Prior to Berkeley, Katrina held roles in the private sector as a management consultant for a global learning and development organization; in the public sector as a civil mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court system; and internationally with UNESCO.
Katrina is a graduate of Pepperdine University, where she earned a B.A. in Psychology with minors in Nonprofit Management, French, and Conflict Management. She earned a Master’s in Dispute Resolution (MDR) from Pepperdine School of Law where she studied cross-cultural negotiation and peacemaking.

Marco Lindsey

Marco Lindsey is the Associate Director of Diversity Equity and Inclusion at the BerkeleyHaas School of Business. In this role, his primary focus areas are staff-related DEIB initiatives, project management for the school-wide diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) strategic plan, and supporting DEIB alumni networks. Marco began his career at Berkeley Haas in 2007, has worked in various roles for the past 4 deans. In his penultimate role he served as Chief of Staff at the school, where he was the first African American to have that position.
Marco is a board member for Boost@BerkeleyHaas, a pipeline program that prepares and supports students throughout their high school journey through various workshops that focus on college preparedness, life skills development, professional development, case study projects and mentorship.
Appointed by interim Dean Laura Tyson, Marco was a member of the action plan team that led to the creation of the first Berkeley Haas Diversity Equity and Inclusion Strategic Action Plan. More recently, Marco implemented the Berkeley Haas version of the Anti-Racism Challenge, and has shared his learnings with other units across UC Berkeley.
Marco has won the Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff Award and received Congressional recognition from Councilwoman Barbara Lee for his work in advancing Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging on campus, and in the community. A Bay Area native, he has many ties to both professional and informal communities of color in the Bay Area and has worked to keep the Berkeley Haas community connected to those groups.
Marco is an alumni of the Berkeley Haas Executive Education program. Prior to his career at the business school, Marco managed logistics in the biotech field at companies such as Bio-Rad and Carl Zeiss Meditec.

Anthony Whitten

Anthony Whitten is the Director of Diversity Admissions, a school-wide DEIB team role, partnering closely with admissions teams across all of our Haas degree programs with a dotted line report into FTMBA admissions.
Anthony joined Berkeley Haas in 2019 as a member of the Full-Time MBA Admissions Team. As an Associate Director of Admissions, he recruited and evaluated students globally. Anthony participated in the wholesale reinvention of the recruitment function during the pandemic imposed remote engagement period. Recognized for his leadership, Anthony was elevated to the role of Sr. Associate Director of Admissions and head of the operations unit. In that role, Anthony oversaw the applicant journey from first touch with the admissions unit through matriculation in the program.
Prior to joining Haas, Anthony served as the NextGen Media Outreach Coordinator at the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. In his work, Anthony developed and implemented pre-college and pipeline programs for prospective students. Before working in higher education, Anthony spent 12 years as a public high school teacher in Virginia. He taught courses including journalism, US history, and economics and personal finance.
Anthony completed his Bachelor’s in History and African American Studies at the University of Virginia. Additionally, he holds masters degrees in Educational Leadership and Policy from Portland State and Teaching from the University of Virginia.

Clemika Young

Clemika Young is the Administrative Assistant to the DEI Team. Prior to joining Haas, Clemika held multiple positions for the West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) for almost ten years. Her most recent role was the Administrative Technician to WCCUSD’s Office of African American Student Achievement (OAASA) where the focus was to stabilize educational growth, equitable resources, opportunities and avenues for the African American students, staff/faculty, and families.

Clemika joins Haas following a ten-year career with the West Contra Costa Unified School District. During her time there she held many positions. Most recently, she served in the role of Administrative Technician to WCCUSD’s Office of African American Student Achievement where they focus on providing students, families, and teachers with equitable resources and opportunities for success.

Outside of Haas, Clemika enjoys food, creating new adventures for her little one, and creating new goals for herself.  She has a firm belief that optimism is key and that all achievements are attainable.
