Strategic Partners

Community partnerships are the cornerstone of our programs.

We provide community partners with the talents and energy of Berkeley Haas students who have benefited from the resources, training, and applications in our programs. These student leaders truly are the future of the social sector and they understand how to apply practical and creative actions to challenging situations.

Our programs prepare students to apply innovative frameworks to real-world challenges.  These opportunities are possible because of the close involvement of our community partners.

Key Programs for Partners

Social Sector Solutions for Nonprofits

In each course, 10 organizations serve as clients to student teams and benefit from more than 900 hours of consultant work. In addition to two classroom instructors, each team is mentored by a McKinsey & Company consultant throughout the project.

The Berkeley Board Fellows

Each year, 30+ select organizations host 60+ Board Fellows who collectively contribute more than 8,400 hours of service.

Philanthropy Fellows

In partnership with the Packard Foundation, CSSL selects Program Fellows to perform analytical studies on a variety of policies, projects, programs, and issues. This fellowship provides extensive training, professional development, a strong network, and access to view the world of philanthropy and grantmaking at one of the largest foundations in the world.

Internships

The Haas Social Impact Fund supports students to work at summer internships in the social sector. The fund subsidizes a portion of students’ wages to bridge the gap between social sector and private sector internship salaries.

Classroom Lectures

Local social sector leaders feature as guest speakers in many of our courses, providing an experienced perspective to the next generation of leaders.
