Announcing Winning Teams of the 2020 Patagonia Case Competition
Congratulations to the outstanding top six finalist teams of the 2020 Patagonia Case Competition!
As a company, Patagonia consistently stands at the forefront of sustainable business, implementing environmental solutions to its mission statement and serving as a model for other companies. This year, the case topic was Waste not, want not: eliminating Patagonia’s pre and post consumer textile waste. Partnering with the Center of Responsible Business at the Haas School of Business, the company hosted its fifth annual Patagonia Case Competition to allow diverse teams of graduate students from across the globe to tackle the apparel waste crisis from start to finish.
We concluded the 2020 Patagonia Case Competition with a special, virtual Premiere of the finalist teams solution presentations on Monday, June 29th. The virtual Premiere was open to all Patagonia staff and was accessible to external attendees by invitation only. We thank the six finalist teams for their flexibility and commitment in continuing to elevate their solutions during this dynamic global period.
The Center for Responsible Business congratulates all six teams on their tremendous efforts in developing innovative solutions. Below is a short encapsulation of each team and a fun fact about their members. We are pleased to present them in order of completion with Team Na(No Waste) Puff from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in first place, Team Circular Economy from Presidio Graduate School in second, and Team Don’t Worry, Be Scrappy from Duke University in third.
