Graduate Student Groups
BERC@Haas is the business school arm of the Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative (BERC). BERC@Haas is focused on making UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business the nation’s leading business school for energy and resources research, entrepreneurship, and career development. BERC and the CRB partner on the Berkeley Innovative Solutions Consulting program run each semester.
Net Impact is an international organization of MBAs driven to make a positive social or environmental impact through business careers. With more than 100 chapters internationally, Net Impact is the most progressive and influential network of MBAs today and the Berkeley chapter is one the largest and most active clubs at the Haas School of Business. The mission of the Berkeley Graduate Net Impact Club is to develop and inspire a network of leaders who promote innovative and socially responsible practices that succeed in the global marketplace. The club accomplishes this by providing Berkeley graduate students with the knowledge, support, and career network that will help them pursue careers in socially responsible businesses, nonprofit organizations, and public management. Activities include: Annual Firm Night, Speaker Series, Board Fellows Program, and the annual Net Impact Conference.
Food@Haas‘ mission is to creatively strengthen our sense of community and bonding through our mutual love of food & we aim to do this by increasing access to resources, alumni, and career opportunities in the food industry.
Undergraduate Student Groups
The Bay-area Environmentally Aware Consulting Network (BEACN) is a non-profit student organization that educates students and businesses about environmental and economic benefits of environmentally sustainable business practices. BEACN provides undergraduate students from a variety of majors the opportunity to implement sustainable practices in a real world environment by engaging its members in consulting projects with San Francisco Bay Area businesses and organizations.
NIB is the Undergraduate chapter of Net Impact. NIB links undergraduates to a global network of 20,000+ students and professionals, each of whom are interested in making a positive impact on the world. By providing unique learning and networking opportunities NIB demonstrates that it’s possible to make a net impact that benefits not just the bottom line, but people and the planet, too. NIB is sponsored by the ASUC, Haas School of Business, and the Center for Responsible Business.
The Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative (BERC) is a student-led organization which brings together students and community members interested in all aspects of energy and resources. BERC’s mission is to connect, educate and engage students in order to foster innovation and action. BERC provides opportunities to address global energy and resources issues and to collaborate on real-world projects.
Institutionalized within the ASUC (Associated Students of the University of California) student government, Sustainability Team creates and implements a variety of projects that help establish sustainable practices and promote environmental awareness on campus.
Started in 2004, Berkeley Green Campus is a student-run internship program that works to increase campus sustainability by bridging the gap that exists between students and institutional energy costs. Interns work to save energy on campus by increasing general awareness, incorporating energy conservation and efficiency into course curricula, and implementing projects targeting energy use, purchasing decisions, and operational changes.
CYC works with startups, nonprofit organizations, local small businesses, and corporate social responsibility projects to foster support and success within our community. Through our pro-bono consulting engagements, students work hands on in close groups to craft effective and impactful strategic recommendations for our clients. Each team is supported by CYC’s learning intensive workshops, MBA mentorship, and an expansive professional network.
