SUMMARY: Security updates to all Windows/Web/Database servers, including the Energy Institute’s SkyNet and Dolores servers and the REFM Lab REFM-ArcGIS.

WHEN: May 19 (Sun.), 2024, time 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM PST |
AFFECTED GROUPS: All – Faculty, Staff, PhDs, and Students |
IMPACT: HIGH. Users on Research Terminal Servers (Haas-Research) and Terminal Servers (TS), SkyNet and Dolores, and REFM Lab REFM-ArcGIS need to close all their applications and log off from the server before the outage. MEDIUM. Each Windows server being updated will be unavailable for 5-10 minutes during the rebooting sequence. |
ACTION REQUIRED: We recommend that users close any open files stored on network drives before the scheduled maintenance. |
Additional information: Microsoft Security Update Guide. Lecterns in classrooms will not be affected by this computing outage.
SUMMARY: Campus IT will be repairing and upgrading the Warren Data Center Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). |
