Below are the recommended laptop specs, as well as some Campus device resources, which would help provide you with optimal computing performance for your work at Haas.
Do note, that the Haas work environment is Windows-based, and some apps and software add-ons, like Analytic Solver for Excel, perform better on a Windows laptop.
At the same time, many Campus applications, such as bMail, bCalendar, and bDrive, were designed in partnership with Google’s G Suite for Education, and works better when accessed through the Chrome browser.

Trial versions of these solutions usually come pre-installed on most new laptops. Alternately, you may also perform tasks through similar bDrive solutions, such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.
No recommended software.
Virtualization software for Mac OSX is an option for Mac users who would like to emulate a Windows environment on their devices. It is not a required software application.
However, for users who would like to have Mac OSX virtualization software installed, we recommend it for laptops with at least 50 GB RAM.
Recommended: Chrome.
Chrome works better with the G Suite for education products, but users can still use other preferred browser options, like Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox.
