Additional scholarship opportunities requiring supplemental information are available. These opportunities are accessible through your Graduate Admissions status page. U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and international students are all eligible for scholarship consideration. If funding is a major factor in your decision process, we encourage you to apply for any applicable scholarships as early as possible — awards are limited and not guaranteed in later rounds.

| Berkeley MBA Grant | Awarded to students based primarily on significant financial need. | Applicants will be asked to self-report income and asset information in order to determine eligibility for funding. Need-based grants will be awarded on a conditional basis and are subject to verification. Award recipients will be asked to submit a single digital file with supporting documentation to validate self-reported data from the application form after an award offer has been made. Our dynamic algorithm does not allow us to publish an income “cut-off point” therefore we highly recommend that all students with interest in need-based funding apply for consideration. Our review accounts for factors including, but not limited to: income, savings, assets, and household size. |

Haas is proud to collaborate with the Mexican non-profit agency, FUNED as a part of their FUNED Scholars program. The organization offers educational funding support for students from Mexico who demonstrates extreme financial need and are pursuing master’s degrees at competitive academic programs worldwide.
MBA applicants will have to submit their applications to FUNED and be approved as a scholar before receiving consideration for the Haas – FUNED grant.
MBA applicants must also apply for our need-based Berkeley MBA Need-Based Grant. The commitment from Haas is two awards of $10,000 each academic year. We will prioritize first-year students who have received the Berkeley MBA Grant and then second-year students with Berkeley MBA Grant. The award may be renewed in the second year, provided there is sufficient funding.
The University of California, Berkeley has partnered with the Mastercard Foundation in a collaborative, global network of education institutions and non-profit organizations that believe education is a catalyst for social and economic advancement. The future of Africa will be shaped by its young people, including those talented, yet economically disadvantaged students who face significant barriers to accessing quality education. The Scholars Program aims to develop a cohort of ethical, entrepreneurial, and energetic young leaders who will drive and lead socio-economic transformation in Africa. The first phase of the Program has benefitted 35,000 young people over 10 years, mostly in Sub-Saharan Africa. At UC Berkeley, the Program has provided comprehensive financial, social, and academic support to 123 bachelors’ and masters’ degree students from 2012 to 2020.

The Native American Opportunity Plan ensures that in-state UC systemwide Tuition and Student Services Fees are fully covered for California students enrolled in federally recognized Native American, American Indian, and Alaska Native tribes. This plan applies to undergraduate and graduate students. This plan does not cover the Professional Degree Supplemental Tuition.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for the Native American Opportunity Plan, students must meet all of the following criteria:
- Must be a current or newly admitted University of California undergraduate, graduate or professional school student.
- Must be a California Resident for tuition purposes.
- Must be an enrolled member in a federally recognized Native American, American Indian and/or Alaska Native tribe.
- Must be enrolled in a qualifying UC degree program.
- Undergraduates must apply for financial aid by submitting a FAFSA, if eligible for federal aid, or California Dream Act application.
UC will reach out directly to new and continuing students who might be eligible with instructions. Documentation of tribal enrollment may include any of the following:
- Certification of tribal enrollment on tribal letterhead.
- Enrollment/membership card that contains the tribal seal and/or official signature of a tribal leader.
- Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB) if the CDIB includes tribal enrollment information.
- Tribal identification card with an enrollment number. You must also submit tribal contact information (address, phone, and email) if it is not evident on submitted documentation.
