Helen Wang
Hi! I’m Helen, a sophomore in the class of 2022 from Fremont, California. I’m double majoring in GMP and Data Science, and I aim to work in driving data-driven business strategy. I chose to come to Cal because I could best explore the intersection between data and business, and in the future, I’m interested in international commerce, consulting, data analytics, and project management. I’m also in CalSol, Berkeley’s Solar Car Team, as an operations member and webmaster. In my free time, I enjoy writing Chinese calligraphy, playing board games, and traveling.
Anna Shim
My name is Anna and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I have lived in a small suburban community my whole life so studying abroad in London really exposed me to the outside world and encouraged me to be more open minded. I fell in love with travelling and extended my trip by a month to backpack through Europe. I gained so much independence through GMP and travelling with friends on weekends. It was an unparalleled experience. I love travelling so much that I am studying abroad again in Geneva, Switzerland over the summer. My professional interests included management consulting and the entertainment/film/media industry. I am part of a business fraternity, the GMP liaison on the Haas Business Student Association Executive Board and a Golden Bear Orientation leader.
Rachit Pareek
I’m Rachit, a second-year student from Fremont, CA. I’m in the Global Management Program and am double majoring in Data Science! Being part of the GMP has been a phenomenal experience – I’ve traveled to 5 countries and met new friends from many more. I hope to keep expanding my horizons in the coming years. In my free time, I love traveling, exploring nature, and running, to name a few. After graduation, I plan to work in tech, building creative solutions to our world’s more pressing problems.
Alex Jo
Hi! My name is Alex and I am a part of the GMP class of 2022. London was a transformative and fun experience. I learned to appreciate art museums, made friends in music society, connected with my Korean identity by learning a traditional instrument and made connections with professors and mentors in marketing and management. The community of students and faculty in GMP made me feel at home, both in London and at Cal. At Cal, I am involved with the Culture Committee in the Asian American Association, I volunteer at the Study Abroad office, and I work part-time. I also enjoy adventuring in San Francisco and other parts of the Bay! In the future, I hope to work in marketing for a healthcare or arts related company with the opportunity to travel or work outside the United States. These plans might change, but right now I am learning as much as I can about marketing and looking for international opportunities to grow my experience.
Grace Huang
My name is Grace Huang. I am interested in studying corporate law and consulting. My future goal is to attend Columbia Law School and go on to become legal counsel for a major company or law firm doing mergers and acquisitions. Right now, I am a member of Kappa Alpha Pi, the premier Pre-Law Fraternity at UC Berkeley. My experience in GMP has been absolutely life-changing. I’ve been able to travel and visit cities that I have always wanted to see like Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, and Reykjavik. But more importantly, with these experiences, I have been able to find my best friends and got the chance to grow and learn about myself and who I want to be in life. The community that I have found in GMP is the best I have ever had the privilege of knowing and I am so grateful.
Engel Yue
My name is Engel and my passions make me who I am. The GMP allows me to combine my love of travelling the world with my desire to make a difference. GMP has given me the freedom and opportunity to delve into a plethora of interests from traditional business to resource sustainability and foreign languages to study abroad. In the future, I’d like to play a role in the effort to save our planet and explore the possibilities in international law pertaining to human rights, poverty and the current energy/environmental crisis. While in London, I was a member of the University of London Fencing Club and Polo Club. Back at Cal, I’ve written for the Haas Undergraduate Blog, played intramural basketball and volunteered as a Study Abroad Ambassador. Currently, I’m working at the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District as a Government Affairs intern and in my spare time, I freelance graphic design.
