Degrees are conferred in December, May, and August. If you complete your degree requirements at the end of the Summer Session, you will be placed on the August degree list.
Diplomas for graduates will be mailed automatically. For more information on diplomas, please see the Office of the Registrar’s website here.
Per Graduate Division policy, all graduates must satisfy a “Capstone” requirement. The EWMBA Program Capstone is the successful completion of EW209 Strategic Leadership. The Capstone requirement will be marked as complete in a student’s final semester. This will generally be mid-semester, after Add/Drop has concluded and schedules are settled.
Semester | Transcript States Degree Conferred | Diploma Available |
Fall (December) | February/March | Late April |
Spring (May) | June/July | Late September |
Summer (August) | September | Late December |
Commencement ceremonies are held once a year. This traditionally happens in the Greek Theatre on the weekend following final exams in the Spring semester.
You may participate in the May graduation ceremony prior to actually completing your degree requirements. August or December graduates may either participate in the ceremony prior to or after completion of degree requirements. However, your degree will only be conferred after completion of your degree requirements.
Exact information about the date, time, location, and guest attendance will be provided early in the Spring in the Commencement Ceremony section.
Haas School of Business will recognize graduating students with a Cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.800 as “Graduating with Honors.”
The likely candidates will be recognized at Commencement based on GPA data available prior to completion of the last term’s grades. However, official determination for “Graduation with Honors” will occur a few weeks after Commencement and will be based on the final cumulative GPA for all courses completed during the MBA Program.
